Eating Solids

So, this isnt the first time he has eaten solid foods, but these pictures crack me up. He isnt a pro yet, but he is getting better at it. He is eating rice cereal and bananas here. I have decided to make all of his baby food because it seems cheaper and better for him than eating packaged stuff. I have only made bananas and sweet potatoes and it is definately cheaper. (Well, all we did was mash up the bananas, there was really no "making" involved.) He loved it all! Anyone interested in making baby food should get the book "Super Baby Food." It is very informative and has tons of recipes, ideas for toddler snacks etc., health information, etc. It is kinda overwhelming, but very good.

I love the food on his nose in the pictures. The goal was to not get it all over his clothes since I forgot a bib this time. Notice how we are holding his hands down...he likes to "help" the spoon into his mouth. We are having so much fun trying new foods!
