First Trip to the Doc
We had our first trip to the pediatricians office last Tuesday. Our official stats: 7 lbs 2 oz. and 20 inches long. (We shrunk? Hmmm...) I guess the measuring isnt exactly accurate since babies are so squirmy. They are concerned about his weight since he has lost 5 oz since birth and its hard to tell how much milk he is getting since I am breastfeeding. We went back to weigh him again on Thursday and he was up to 7 lb 3 oz. The nurse suggested supplementing with an oz or two of formula, but I really dont want to do that yet. We are suppose to go back on Monday to see how much weight we have gained. If you other breastfeeding Moms have any advice or encouragement, it would be appreciated because I am pretty weak....any pressure to switch to formula might make me cave in. I just want to do what is best for him. He is obviously not starving, so Im trying not to worry about it, but it is hard. Ok, so this became more about gaining weight than the doctors appointment. That is pretty much the highlight of the appt though. Everything else looks good. I am working on getting more pictures up. Sorry its taking forever!!

NO! Don't give in! You can do it!!!
Can you talk to a lactation consultant there that could encourage you? Or contact La Leche League? Or even call me?! I'm no expert but I'd be happy to encourage you all I can.
Breastfeeding can be so hard at first but it is SO WORTH IT! And it's all your baby needs!

Sorry if I sound too opinionated...but I'm passionate about this subject and would still be bfeeding O if I hadn't had to stop b/c of another pregnancy!
